Claudia Rogge mob il2
Prague, Vienna, Budapest various locations
The Art Newspaper was impressed last month by having the rare privilege of an exhibit being brought to our offices. We were not the only ones to recieve this honour, as Düsseldorf-based German artist Claudia Rogge has been on a European tour since June, bringing her art with her for all to see. Installed in a mobile transparent truck named "mob" are 66 kneeling, naked male bodies made of yellow fibre-glass (shown above in London). Eliciting astonished reactions from those who see it, this is Rogges´s second touring installation folowing her travels last year with the truck filled with 5,000 plastic dolls´heads. One of her main interests is the juxtaposition of the work against the architectural background of the cities she visits and Ms Rogge allways brings a photographer with her to record her transit in these different environments and in different stages of movement. She can be found this month in Prague (21-22 October), Vienna (24-25 October) and Budapest (27-28 Oktober), after which she will be driving through Germany and Belgium.
